Training Play

Training Play sets out a site training route for marked aisles, bays and crossing points in South African plants. It is used when a team must read new linework while forklifts, pallets and shift handovers continue around them.

Shift handover route drills

Training Play is a plant-floor training path built around real movement, not boardroom language. It helps teams read new routes, bays and markings in the context of everyday work. This page gives the main outline for sites that need practical uptake on the floor.

Training Play starts with where people actually turn, stop and queue during a shift. Durban humidity can lift tape edges, Highveld dust can dull colour contrast, and generator changeovers can interrupt when checks happen. The route is written around dispatch lanes, machine approaches and pedestrian crossings, not meeting-room diagrams.

Photograph each bay, crossing and blind corner before the session begins. The pack includes a compact cue sheet for supervisors to fix near an entry point or keep with site documents. That reference helps the next crew read the same markings after a handover or weekend shutdown.

What the training pack covers

The pack maps the sequence people must follow, the checks to call out and the spots that need extra attention. It names routes and work areas in plain terms used on site. One clear training run through receiving, storage and dispatch is more useful than a stack of unused options.

Link Training Play to the matching plant note before adding more zones to the brief. Check labels, route cards and bay references again before goods leave site. Use the contact form with the path name and one current photo of the area.

Site conditions that change training

Training Play must account for export traffic through OR Tambo, warehouse movement around Sunnyrock and older concrete in Crown Mines. Smaller mall service areas also have fixed delivery windows and narrow back-of-house access. When a plant is live, note what cannot shift, which markings are failing and which zones must stay open this month.

Salt air near the coast changes cleaning cycles and adhesion checks on marked routes. Inland dust can reduce visibility at edges, while power cuts shift the best time for inspections and refresher walks. A showroom visit is for reviewing line types, bay logic and route reading at close range.

Crew drill setup points

Send photos of the area, planned timing and any near-miss points that prompted the update. Include bay names, traffic type and whether pedestrians and forklifts share crossings.

File the Training Play note while the route changes are still easy to verify on site. Add the project note and resource sheet when procurement or safety staff need a clear record of markings, checks and training use.
