Route dimensions for first issue

Startup Kit specs lists the working details behind the first floor layout. Check this page when you need the exact scope for routes, bays or markings in a live plant. It is built for South African sites where the floor has to make sense from day one of use.

Startup Kit specs sets out lane widths, turning space, bay edges and marking lengths for a first live layout. Conditions differ by region, so the notes account for Highveld dust, Durban humidity and Cape Town wind-blown grit where visibility and adhesion can change during a shift. Numbers on this page are meant for active South African plants, not display-only plans.

Record the area before pallets, cages or bins are moved from their normal positions. The spec pack works best with a dated photo set, one marked sketch and a simple location name so supervisors on the next shift read the same layout in the same way. That baseline matters when routes pass doors, racking ends or dispatch staging.

Marked widths and bay tolerances

The page defines where movement runs, where waiting space starts and which markings belong at conflict points. It also notes the checks to carry out before handover, including sightline review, trolley swing, pedestrian crossing points and clearance at machine corners. Use it when the site needs exact scope rather than a broad concept.

Match Startup Kit specs with the correct route name, bay count and marking schedule before materials are booked. Recheck the issue against the site drawing and current photo set so old dimensions do not slip into a live plant. If details need to be sent through the contact form, include the path name and one current site image.

Site conditions that change specs

Traffic near OR Tambo, warehousing around Sunnyrock and older concrete in Crown Mines can all alter the first layout issue. Some plants have fixed racks, fenced cells or loading doors that set hard limits on route position from day one. Startup Kit specs should name those fixed points before any tape, paint or signage is listed.

Coastal sites often need closer attention to cleaning cycles, marking bond and wheel residue around turns. Inland plants can lose contrast under fine dust, especially near roller doors and outbound staging zones. During load-shedding, inspection timing may shift, so the spec sheet should state which checks depend on full lighting and live equipment.

Information needed before issue

Send site photos, operating times, vehicle types and any recent failure in the marked area. Add known dimensions for aisles, door openings and bay depth where available. Clear notes at this stage reduce rework when the first layout goes into use.

File Startup Kit specs with the project note and resource sheet when purchasing or safety sign-off needs a traceable record. Keep one copy with the area reference images and one with the job file so later changes can be checked against the first issued scope. This page is the place for the working numbers behind the layout.
