Safety Card
Safety Card gives crews a fixed reference for one system or work area, with the key safety points visible at a glance. It is suited to plants where operators, artisans and supervisors need the same short instruction set during handover and routine checks.

Mounted reference at the bay
Safety Card gives a concise plant reference for the safety points attached to a specific system or area. It suits South African floors where crews need the essentials visible and easy to follow during normal work.
Each Safety Card is built around the exact equipment zone, the hazards tied to that zone, and the checks that matter before start-up. Gauteng dust, coastal humidity, washdown areas and load-shedding all influence what must be shown clearly on the card and where it should be placed.
The card is typically fixed near an entry point, control station or guarded access panel where the crew stops naturally. Include isolation points, required PPE, emergency stop position and permit reminders so the same essentials stay in view across shifts.
System point reference at the station
A useful Safety Card names the machine or area plainly and strips the reference down to actions people actually use. Short fields for hazards, lockout points, access restrictions and reporting lines help keep the note readable in a noisy plant environment.
Link the Safety Card to the area file before adding wider plant documentation. Check names, asset numbers and emergency contacts against the current site register, then send updates through the contact form with one clear photo of the installed position.
- Area hazards listed in plain view
- Isolation and emergency points clearly named
- Related: Systems, Plant plays, and Floor notes
- Space for revision and issue date
Conditions that change the wording
Sites near Durban often need stronger attention to moisture, corrosion and legibility after cleaning. Inland plants around Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni may need dust-aware placement so the card stays readable near conveyors, packing lines and fabrication cells.
Power interruptions can change restart checks, especially where guards are opened during downtime or diesel backup changes normal routines. In food, chemical and heavy industrial settings, the card should match the permit system, cleaning regime and access control used on that site.

Information to send with Safety Card
Send the system name, the exact area, current hazards and any rule that must appear on the card. Photos of the mounting point, nearby controls and existing signage help prevent duplicated or conflicting instructions.

Where audits or handovers are strict, keep the Safety Card aligned with the project note and resource sheet for the same asset. That makes revisions easier to track when equipment moves, guarding changes or a process line is split into separate zones.
